attended a 2-days course on thursday and friday -- The 7 Habits to Effective People. a successful course from US which cost 10,000USD for the "teacher" to conduct the course for an hour. imagine how much he earned after conducting the course for 2 days or 8 hours each.. $$$! it was a extremely inspiring course.. a course which gave people alot of strength and faith.. will share them here bit by bit =)
well of cos.. since i was having course on thursday and friday.. it means i only work for 3 days this week.. heehee!
and after which was our big day.. NUS Libraries SWC lunch! it was held at St Regis Hotel.. 6 stars hotel seh! don't play play.. i didn't even know it was a 6 class hotel when i did the X'mas decor design for them last year cos.. well.. their budget was low lah.. haha.. that's why..
the event was super early.. starts at 11.15.. so had to climb up early in the morning to prepare.. boo! so everything ended up in a mess cos i was rushing.. but thankfully i was only late meeting my colleague by 5min.
met peck guat at the bus interchange and boarded the bus there. the bus was literally like a sauna lah.. it's single deck packed with passenger and and and! it's not air-conditioned although it was a air-conditioned bus.. argh!
reached and proceed to the ballroom and alot of the staffs were there already. after which was speech from the chairman of the committees followed by the director of NUS Libraries. yesterday was the first time i ever met the director after working for almost 3 months. only heard her voice through the phone when she was looking for the deputy director.. plus some compliments from the HR during the 2-days course.. finally can meet my always-behind-the-scene BIG BOSS.
after which was the buffet, performances, games and lucky draws.buffet wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either.. probably because they are french cuisine.
performances was alright. 3 of the professionals whom i have in contact, Dianne (ERM Team), JingWen (ERM Team plus catelogueing buddy), and Sydni (not sure if her name was spelled correctly) performed the Qian Li Zhi Wai. actually wanted to take pictures of them on the stage but i decided not cos i don't wanna add on to their nervousness.. hehe.. so nice of me huh...
games wasn't too bad though.. i would say the host was pretty good at high-ing everybody through creating competitions by spliting us into 2 groups. lastly.. the lucky draws! mary won a takashimaya 100dollars voucher which she always wanted... ENVY!!! doreen won a kitchenware as well.. i so wanted the limited edition SWATCH watch lah.. but lady luck wasn't with me.. hur =\ anyway.. none of us went home empty-handed cos the doorgift was a 1GB SONY mp3 walkman! mine was in white.. so cool man! but i'm giving it to my mom since i already have my ipod =D
colleagues said i was really lucky to join NUS just in time for this event cos firstly, it was held at a 6 stars hotel.. which was the first time for the past
n years. secondly, though it cost $100 over per head.. it was fully subsidized this year cos they won the Best Service Award last year.. which means.. i contributed nothing and yet i get to participate for absolutely free.. hee! thirdly, the doorgift which we get this year was the most costly one.. cos according to mary.. last time the doorgift they got was Esprit towel set and some unique mug blah blah... fourthly, the newcomers wasn't sabotaged to go up to the stage this year.. phew!
alright.. come comments on the hotel. no wonder they are named as 6 stars hotel.. their service was superb! the staffs were really polite and attentive to us.. they greet everybody they see even if you're going to the restroom or just walking on the corridoor, the crews go round the table to lay the napkin for you, whenever you got back to your sit, there's bound to have somebody to pull the chair for you, you don't have to signal to them for refilling of drinks.. and they'll automatically bring you sugar if you asked for coffee.. and there's one crew who looks very much like Tom Cruise lah.. not exaggerating okay! the best hotel i've ever been..
Huge mesmerizing chandelier!

The Big Shots! - Director (2nd from left), 2 deputy director (1st & 4th from left), my supervisor (5th from left), my supervisor-to-be (6th from left), head of L&M (7th from left).. the rest i don't know.. hee =p

finally! it's my "mommies".. both who really took great care of me at work - doreen (left) whom i'm closer with cos she practically treat me like her small daughter pss: she has a daughter who is only 2 years older than me. - mary (right) my buddy whom i'm attached to right on my first day of work.
and now.. my feets were hurting like hell all thanks to my heels =( seriously wondering what should i wear to work tomorrow which wouldn't add any pain to me..
everything ended at 4pm.. got home to change and headed to meet mom for dinner. off to causeway point after that but bought nothing cos my feets hurts, legs ache cos of all the walking with the heels and i'm totally exhausted. got home.. washed up and off to bed.. straight away! haha..

kakees.. anybody interested to start a small online business? i've got a couple of ideas in mind now (Thanks yongling for some precious ideas some time ago). but! look for me only if you're willing to commit, willing to risk, and willing to sacrifice some of your priceless time.. alright?
i've always wanted to do this since last year.. but the thoughts frailed away as the time goes by. it's only this year, i've decided to go all out for it mainly i'm bored with work and the thoughts just came back, partly because of some things i learned from the course.. and since i'm still young and robust.. even if it were to fail eventually, i don't wanna regret when i grew old for not trying.
naive? or stubborn? i don't know.. and i don't wanna know.
and I miss you already
